The term “Retrofit” means installing or providing a component or feature in a home that was not fitted, wired or installed during the original construction phases.
Retrofitting a home with wires for home automation technology can become expensive.
For example, when interior walls are down during a new construction pre-wire, the charge to run a single speaker wire is $80.00.
BUT… During a Retrofit Installation of that same speaker we usually have to crawl through hot attics and cut/repair drywall where needed. This causes the average Retrofit wire to cost around $175 to run (including all wire, labor, terminations and wall plates).
Your retrofit isn’t completed properly if it looks like someone has been installing your wires. We never leave a mess and you wouldn’t ever know that we were there.
